SkiStec is a free comparison tool for ski resorts in Europe and North America. It lets you filter and compare resorts by piste length, altitude, vertical drop, lift count, distance from a chosen location and snowfall forecast. No account or registration is required.
You may use the site freely for personal purposes. Automated bulk retrieval of content is not permitted, including copying the database in whole or in substantial part, nor is any activity that degrades the service for other users. You may not impersonate the site or use its name or logo without permission.
We collect data by hand from resort websites and publicly available sources, then verify it in stages. Resorts whose piste difficulty breakdown has been checked carry a note to that effect; where it is missing, figures are indicative and we say so. We do not, however, guarantee that all information is complete, current and free of error. Resort statistics change (new lifts, reworked runs) and sources often contradict one another. Always check the resort’s official website before you travel. We accept no liability for decisions made solely on the basis of data from this site.
Snowfall forecasts come from Open-Meteo and refer to top-station altitude. They are model forecasts, not measurements — they say nothing about actual snow depth or which lifts are running. Road distances come from a routing service; when it is unavailable we show an estimate marked with a tilde (~). Neither figure should be your only basis for planning a trip.
The site layout, code, descriptions and the way the data is compiled are protected by copyright. Individual facts (piste length, altitude, lift counts) are not, but the database as an organised whole is protected under database rights. You may quote individual pieces of information with attribution; copying the database in whole or in substantial part requires our permission.
The site links to resort websites, maps and search engines. We have no control over their content or privacy practices and accept no responsibility for them. Following an external link is at your own risk.
We aim to keep the site running continuously but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may modify, suspend or discontinue it, including without notice. Some features depend on third-party services (maps, weather, routing) and may be temporarily unavailable for reasons beyond our control.
How we handle data is described in a separate document — the privacy policy. The site collects no personal data beyond what is set out there.
We may update these terms, for example when adding new features. The date of the last change appears at the top of this page. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance of it.
Resort pages include links to Booking.com for checking accommodation and flights. These are affiliate links — if you make a booking through them, we may receive a commission from Booking.com. This does not affect the price you pay in any way; it is identical to visiting Booking.com directly. We are not responsible for the content, availability or terms of offers shown on Booking.com.
